The Opportunity
We are seeking a Civil Engineer to support the delivery of civil engineering design on infrastructure projects. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team and under the guidance of senior engineers, the role will contribute to the development of safe, compliant, and well‑coordinated design solutions, with a focus on drainage, surface water management, and highways‑related works.
Responsibilities:
This position is well suited to an engineer at an early stage of their career who is keen to develop technical capability
- Support the preparation of civil engineering designs, drawings, calculations, and technical documentation under supervision.
- Assist with drainage, surface water, and Section 278 designs in line with relevant standards and guidance.
- Coordinate design inputs within multidisciplinary teams and help resolve technical issues.
- Provide timely updates, revisions, and support to project managers and engineers as requirements evolve.
- Participate in design reviews, quality checks, and continuous improvement of modelling and drafting processes.
- Maintain high accuracy and compliance with CAD standards, data protocols, and best practices.
- Develop technical knowledge by engaging with senior team members and staying up to date with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS workflows.

Is this role right for you?
We are looking for people who:
Degree in Utilities, Civil, Infrastructure Engineering, or a related discipline.
Strong experience in civil engineering design with exposure to industry or early‑career roles.
Basic understanding of UK design standards, regulations, and approval processes
Willingness to learn and develop skills in drainage, highways, and infrastructure design
Detail‑focused, methodical, and confident in questioning unclear or inconsistent information
Collaborative, pragmatic, and able to work effectively within teams under programme pressures
Committed to high standards of quality, safety, and professional conduct, working towards ICE or similar accreditation.
