The Opportunity
We are looking for an Intern (STAGE/TIROCINIO) to join our Civil team in the Roads and Streets discipline, as part of our Infrastructure group within ARUP in our Milan Office, Italy.

Gain hands-on experience in Civil Engineering, in particular Roads and Streets and work alongside experts in the field.
Develop your technical skills and knowledge through structured training programs and mentorship.
A role in the Roads and Streets team will include design and coordination, often liaising with other multi-disciplinary contributors to projects. You will be required to deliver projects to the required technical standards in a timely manner, reporting to the team leader or project manager as appropriate.
As a Civil Engineering – Streets and Roads Intern at Arup, you will:
Assist in the preparation of technical designs for projects, including geometrical alignment and drainage, drawings, reports, correspondence, and other outputs in accordance with approved design standards and procedures in line with the delivery programme.
Contribute to technical analysis, modelling, and reporting, applying your academic knowledge to real-world challenges,
Modelling of the earthworks for the site and coordination with roads and streets and cut-and-fill analysis,
Ensure that relevant legislation, regulations, policies, strategies, and technical guidance is interpreted, followed and communicated across the team with guidance from senior members of staff,
Implement the appropriate QA procedures for all deliverables and ensure compliance with H&S requirements,
Communicate effectively and in a team environment with a broad cross-section of individuals. This would typically include but is not limited to; roads and streets colleagues and project managers, other internal design disciplines, clients and contractors,
Participate in site visits and project workshops, gaining valuable industry exposure.
Does this role inspire you?
We're looking for a future or recent graduate in in Civil Engineering with a focus and passion for transport and streets and roads. We also value:
Knowledge of Civil Engineering software is preferred (Civil3D, Open Roads, GIS, Revit),
Knowledge of modelling of earthworks and cut-and-fill analysis is preferred,
Strong understanding of engineering principles,
Curious, committed to engineering, and eager to learn,
Collaborative, excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills,
Fluency in English and Italian.
