We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior DevOps consultant to join our global development team. You will be designing and implementing DevOps best practices for delivery of Oasys Suite that has been used to design iconic vehicles produced by major automotive OEMs worldwide. As a DevOps Consultant, you will work closely with our varied team to accelerate their delivery of customer value whilst maintaining our core business value for quality work. This is a technical role that requires a holistic understanding of how people, processes and technology come together to solve the complex engineering problems facing our world today.

Oasys is the software house of Arup. It is the brand through which Arup sells market leading technical software. To support the growth of our Oasys business we are looking to expand our global software development team.

We have been using LS-DYNA for our consultancy work for over 30 years. Our in-depth knowledge of this powerful analysis solver has enabled us to create the Oasys LS-DYNA Environment - tailored tools written exclusively for LS-DYNA that give users the power to prepare models, interpret results and share solutions. The Oasys LS-DYNA Environment is used by the majority of automotive OEMs worldwide and across many other industries, including defense, nuclear and civil engineering. We are committed to providing our clients with the best possible service through our product development, sales & marketing activities, customer events, conferences and training courses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, maintain and improve our current bespoke tools for building, testing and deploying the Oasys Suite.
  • Seek out opportunities for process and technology standardisation/improvement. 
  • Create and advocate standard practices to maintain deployment throughput, service reliability and learning culture.
  • Developing and implementing plans for improvements to DevOps toolchain/processes.
  • Guide teams with onboarding to DevOps toolchain based on their use case. Designing CI/CD pipelines for applications and automate different phases of the DevOps pipeline.
  • Work with wider team to understand their value chain, including design, build, delivery, and support activities.

Is this role right for you?

  1. Previous experience working with digital products and services in a senior development or senior support role.
  2. Proficient in using Linux and Windows based operating systems.
  3. Have a good understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and experience in building continuous integration & delivery pipelines- CI/CD
  4. Excellent understanding of DevOps and its role in delivering value and previous experience in a DevOps related role.
  5. Experience using scripting languages for DevOps processes (for example Perl or similar languages).
  6. Working knowledge of AWS (Amazon Web Services) or Azure. Hands on experience with tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub.
  7. Creating and scaling DevOps pipelines to build, scan, test and deploy code to various production and preproduction environments.
