We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Offshore Renewables Lead to spearhead the development and delivery of electrical systems for offshore renewable energy projects across Southeast Asia. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise in HV electrical systems, a proven track record in offshore renewables project delivery, and strong leadership in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments
This Energy Leader will play a pivotal role in strengthening Arup’s position in the Southeast Asia energy market, driving project success, enhancing client relationships, and fostering collaboration across disciplines. They will lead the delivery of complex energy infrastructure projects, ensuring innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions that align with client needs and industry best practices. This role will also contribute to business growth, technical excellence, and cross-disciplinary integration, reinforcing Arup’s reputation as a trusted advisor in the energy sector.  

The Opportunity

•    Lead the delivery of offshore renewables projects, including but not limited to offshore wind, tidal, floating solar and interconnectors. 
•    Provide technical leadership in the preparation of design basis, specifications, and functional requirements for electrical infrastructure.
•    Develop and optimize offshore electrical topologies, manage grid connection assessments and interface with utilities and regulatory bodies across Southeast Asia markets.
•    Support team members in technical execution and problem-solving, fostering a culture of excellence.
•    Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders, utilities, and government agencies.

Is This Role Right for You?
•    Chartered Engineer (e.g., CPEng, CEng) with a degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
•    12+ years of experience in the energy sector, with a strong focus on offshore renewables.
•    Proven experience delivering offshore renewables projects across APAC, including Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Australia, and Southeast Asia.
•    Expertise in electrical design, overall offshore electrical topology, offshore substations and grid integration.
•    Strong project management skills with experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
