The Opportunity
We are looking for an Environmental Consultant to join our team in Copenhagen. You will contribute to environmental assessment, permitting and planning assignments across infrastructure, industry, water and the built environment. From the outset, you will have a clear project home, structured supervision and opportunities to work with experienced environmental specialists, planners and engineers. The role combines research and analysis with report preparation, technical coordination and engagement across multidisciplinary project teams.
As an Environmental Planner at Arup, you will:
Prepare and coordinate sections of environmental impact assessments, environmental reports, permitting applications and technical notes, with appropriate review and guidance.
Research and analyse planning, environmental and spatial information from relevant Danish and European sources, identifying gaps and clearly documenting findings.
Work with environmental specialists, planners, engineers and project managers to collect, track and integrate multidisciplinary inputs.
Support Danish environmental and local planning assignments through meeting preparation, action tracking, stakeholder information and responses to review comments.
Build practical knowledge of Danish and European environmental requirements while taking increasing responsibility for safe, timely and high quality delivery.
Does this role inspire you?
We are looking for someone who enjoys making sense of technical information, working collaboratively and producing clear outputs. We also value:
A relevant degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, ecology, geography, planning or a related discipline.
3 years of experience in environmental assessment, permitting, planning, environmental monitoring or consultancy.
Strong research, analysis and report writing skills, with careful attention to quality and detail.
An ability to organise information, follow actions and contribute effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
Professional fluency in Danish and English, enabling you to work with Danish source material and communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders. Experience using geographic information systems or spatial data would be advantageous, but is not essential.
Most importantly, you should be motivated to learn and willing to ask for support when a task or decision is beyond your current experience.
