Joining Arup

Arup’s purpose, shared values and collaborative approach has set us apart for over 75 years, guiding how we shape a better world.

Watch this short clip to discover how Arup are shaping a better world and how you could be a part of it!

We are inviting expressions of interest from experienced Transport Planners in London, Birmingham and the North of England.

At Arup, our transport planning work is as diverse as it is impactful. From shaping international masterplans in the Middle East, North Africa, and Bhutan, to driving major UK regeneration projects like Southall Green Quarter, Canada Water, and the London Cancer Hub - we are helping to design the cities of tomorrow.

We lead on transformative infrastructure projects such as Euston Station and Heathrow expansion, while also delivering strategic insight on active travel, public transport, and town centre strategies nationwide.

We also support Local Government and public sector projects such as town centres strategies, active travel strategies, policy development, public sector led housing development and public transport strategies

As a Transport Planner, you will

  • Develop Transport Assessments, integrated transport strategies and support Environmental Impact Assessments

  • Collaborate across disciplines to reimagine how people move through cities

  • Support sustainable, inclusive, and accessible design at every scale

  • Translate complex data into creative, practical solutions

  • Provide development advisory transport strategy and design advice

  • Build strong relationships with clients and mentor junior team members

We’re looking for proactive, collaborative professionals with a passion for shaping places—whether through development planning, public realm design, or city-scale strategies. Experience in transport planning for planning applications, design development, and stakeholder engagement is essential.

At Arup, you’ll join a global, values-driven team that champions curiosity, creativity, and socially useful work. We support continuous learning and celebrate individuality in everything we do.
