The Opportunity
Our large team in London has an influential position in the market but needs more leaders to support development and to open new opportunities. This vacancy is for a senior leadership role in London.
We are seeking an experienced façade design or engineering professional with a strong reputation in the industry and particular expertise in precast concrete. The successful candidate will be a natural integrator, bringing proven design and technical leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with all parties throughout the lifecycle of complex construction projects. They will represent Arup with credibility and gravitas, while also demonstrating experience in leading, developing and supporting teams through a collaborative approach.
I this role you will:
- Provide leadership to Arup’s Facades practice in London while contributing across the UK, Europe, India, the Middle East and Africa, supporting the development of the team and championing design and technical excellence.
- Inspire sustainable, high-performing façade design by working with architects, clients and design teams to develop practical and ambitious precast concrete solutions that respond to technical, logistical and site constraints.
- Represent Arup on major projects, build strong relationships with clients and collaborators, and guide project teams toward excellent design outcomes.
- Review specialist façade contractor designs, particularly precast concrete solutions, and provide expert input on their design approach and delivery.
- Help grow the Arup Facades business by strengthening its reputation, winning work and contributing to commercial targets.

Is this role right for you?
We’d like to hear from you if you:
- Are an established façade specialist with skills in precast concrete.
- Have completed a portfolio of medium to large scale projects.
- Have business development skills to help win new projects.
- Show a strong ability to communicate with the team through sketching, drawing, in writing and using computer modelling tools.
- Prepare clear and compelling reports to present the project team’s work and develop these at later stages into tender documentation.
