The Opportunity
The role will see you play a pivotal role in increasing Arup’s already successful façade and building envelope business in the UK and abroad. With a keen interest and deep experience in the technical challenges of facade design resolving the aesthetic challenges whilst address performance requirements working with established and emerging systems, materials and technology. This role is based in London, you will join the leadership team of the UK facade practice and help to further grow our market visibility and influence.

Is this role right for you?
We are looking for a candidate to provide creative design leadership to the practice, support client development and increase our work winning capability in London and internationally. The candidate will have:
· A qualification relevant to facade design, architecture, structural engineering, building physics or related relevant discipline, with professional qualification(s).
· Ideally Member of Society of Façade Engineering.
· Extensive experience in façade design and the successful delivery of projects across a range of building typologies, systems, materials and finishes.
· A high degree of motivation and comfortable taking ownership of designs and tasks. Will take the lead on investigation and resolution of technical issues.
· Experience in leading design teams and managing people, being an advocate for technical excellence and quality
· Commercially astuteness, with proven experience of running projects independently and managing others to achieve strong outcomes
· Good capability in team management, project management with excellent design and technical delivery abilities
· Strong client-facing experience in projects, and a track record of bidding and winning façade consultancy commissions.
· A fundamental appreciation of facade consultancy or architectural design focused on the façade packages and knowledge of commercial aspects of design delivery
