The Opportunity
The role will be responsible for delivering financial reports and analysis for the Arup’s integrated cost functions. This involves ensuring that processes are consistent, accurate, compliant, and insightful, and supporting the needs of both the business and external stakeholders.
The Board endorsed and we are establishing a fresh approach to investment activity covering the firm as a whole from 2025/26 that aligns with the new five-year Global Strategy and Integrated Business Plan. This role will play in important part in providing the reporting for the Global Investment Executive and coordinating updates from budget holders. You will be a member of the Global FP&A team and member of the Global Finance Community, working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure best practice and deliver expertise in a cross-section of financial activities.
We are seeking a dedicated Financial Planning & Analysis Specialist to oversee the financial planning cycle and rolling forecasting process for integrated cost functions or Central Groups, such as Marketing and People. This role involves monitoring and reporting on monthly salaries, overheads, and expenses, collaborating with function representatives to rectify mis-postings and corrections. You will analyse and review financial results and performance, producing executive reports and insightful commentary to promote decision-making and provide a thorough understanding of operational performance and trends. Additionally, you will coordinate data flows from finance-related systems, ensuring the integrity and completeness of data used for reporting purposes. You will also provide timely updates and reporting for the Investment Executive (InVex) on newly formed Global Investment categories, and support the FP&A Manager CS with requests from InVex. Handling ad hoc reporting requests as needed will also be part of your remit. Is this role right for you?
We are looking for people who:
- Are detail oriented, thorough, well organized, and who can effectively manage time.
- Have knowledge of Finance systems that support management accounting and reporting processes. Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
- Have the ability to work in an agile and collaborative manner within a complex and changing business environment.
- Have advanced Excel and working knowledge of relational database information systems, Power BI exposure would be an advantage
- Are working towards an accountancy qualification ACCA/ACA/CIMA would be desirable.
