The Opportunity

This is your chance to be part of a team where you will use innovative design tools and techniques to bring new ideas to life and engage clients and stakeholders in meaningful conversations about change. From envisioning the future of mail and parcel logistics to researching the future design and operation of a city district, Foresight helps to answer complex questions that require a broad and holistic look at the future.

 

As a Foresight Trainee at Arup, you will:

  • Get involved in research and analysis (primary and secondary research involving qualitative and/or quantative analysis)
  • Participate in the development of drafts, revision of bids and project proposals
  • Contribute to the writing, editing and layout of client reports and other presentations
  • Take part in the preparation and planning of business development activities
  • Provide support in the administrative tasks

 

Does this role inspire you?

We are looking for a curious and motivated trainee to help its newly established Foresight, Strategy and Insights team. Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Currently enrolled on a degree in foresight, business administration, management, analytics/data science, finance, economics or other relevant fields.
  • Knowledge and/or strong intellectual curiosity for global developments, systemic risks and a broad interest in economic, environmental, geopolitical, technological and societal developments.
  • Experience in supporting research and analysis projects.
  • Experience supporting the drafting and production of insight products, thought-leadership pieces etc.
  • Experience in project management and coordination skills, attention to detail, capacity to apply critical thinking and synthesize various viewpoints and complex issues.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Bonus points if you have:

  • Knowledge of other European language
  • The below experience would represent clear additional asset for the team:
  • Experience in data analysis and data visualization as well as working knowledge of STATA, R programming language
  • Past experience in consulting and advisory services including previous internship
  • Knowledge and experience of InDesign
  • Fluency in use of core microsoft office suite (word, excel and powerpoint).
  • Research, analysis and synthesizing skills.
  • Strategic and critical thinking.
  • Good writing and editorial skills.
  • Autonomy self, attention to detail and professionalism.

 

Conditions

  • Be enrolled in the university to be able to establish an agreement with the University
  • Immediate incorporation
  • Duration: 6 months of extendable internship (possibility of joining after completing the internship)
  • Schedule: From 20 to 40 hours per week to be defined with the student
  • Remuneration: will depend on the student's level of training and the number of hours established.
