Primary Focus
The Fusion Business Analyst (Technical) will be responsible for analysing processes, gathering requirements, and identifying opportunities for technology improvements as part of Arup’s Oracle Cloud HCM implementation.
Work closely with stakeholders across teams to ensure technical design and solutions align with business goals and deliver measurable value.
Support technical workstream leads, the Technical Architect and the Technical Programme Manager with the analysis required to finalise technical design and To Be impacts.
Support the programme’s test phases.
Key Responsibilities
Gather, define, and document detailed technical and system requirements across programme workstreams and Oracle Cloud modules (HCM, ORC, Compensation, Benefits, Absence)
Participate in design workshops and meetings where technical design and impacts will be discussed.
Analyse and document As Is processes, data flows and systems, to identify change impacts or gaps, to support decision-making on design. For example, impacts related to changes to data entry and partial decommissioning of Production systems, such as Dayforce Ceridian.
Translate requirements into good quality documentation for Arup’s SI (System Integrator) partner, or specifications for Arup DTG teams or third-party payroll vendors, under the direction of the workstream leads, Technical Architect and the Technical Programme Manager.
Create process flow diagrams, system diagrams, data models and use cases as part of documentation.
Support with the programme’s test phase, including creating tests scripts, test execution and the preparation of test data.
During the testing phases (including UAT), support the defect resolution process by facilitating business decisions on functionality and acceptable workarounds.
Review specified technical deliverables, such as Functional and Technical Specifications.
Work with Arup’s Technical Architect, internal compliance and security teams when required to ensure technical recommendations meet Arup’s standards.
Support with the preparation of papers for the Programme Technical Design Authority and Arup’s Technical Design Authority and CAB.
Translate technical conversations on integrations and architecture into accessible conversations for the core project team and stakeholders when decision making is required by a non-technical audience.
Report on status and progress of activities using the agreed trackers and make timely updates to support workstream roll-up reporting.
Create and/or impact assess change requests (CRs) from a technical perspective.
Prepare papers to present options and make recommendations to Digital Technology (DT), the business and the Design Authority.
Collaborate with the Global People Services Team and DTG stakeholders to document and progress any new integration requirements to impact assessment prior to formal change control.
Participate in OWCs and ad hoc calls to present on Arup’s technical requirements or challenges when the programme requires it.
Conduct gap analysis assessments between current processes and the new system capabilities, identifying gaps, areas of improvement and opportunities for process efficiencies. Aggregate information and perform analysis to inform how business areas can improve, where process steps should sit and highlight improvements that can add value
Collaborate with solution architects to ensure technical designs align with Oracle Cloud best practices.
Support integration teams with interface specifications, documenting data mappings, functional requirements and validating designs against end to end processes.
Assist in gathering requirements for reporting dashboards, KPIs and analytics
Facilitate workshops and stakeholder meetings to elicit requirements, drive consensus on solution design through walkthroughs, and lead sign off sessions with business and technology stakeholders
Support Data Migration teams with assessment of data mappings, processes and capturing of local data requirements for migration from legacy systems to Oracle Cloud
Work closely with the SI (System Integrator) to ensure all requirements are captured, prioritised and tracked in the Requirements Traceability Matrix
Skills & Experience
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
Experience of supporting technical workstreams on global cloud implementations, in particular integrations and data migration.
Understanding of Identity Access Management.
Adept at using process mapping tools, such as MS Visio.
Understanding of Oracle HCM modules including Core HR, Absence, Recruitment, Compensation, Benefits and Payroll, together with the supporting technology and the integration touchpoints. Or experience of similar modules provided by an alternative Cloud vendor, such as Workday or SAP.
Basic understanding of Arup’s legacy systems - Oracle EBS and Taleo is desirable.
Understand principles of good architectural design, IAM and security.
Experience working across diverse geographic and cultural landscapes.
