In an increasingly competitive marketplace, our Marketing, Communications, and Business Development (MCBD) team enables Arup to build and protect our reputation, deepen client relationships, win quality work, and attract top talent. This role will be key in achieving our strategic market and client ambitions. We are seeking to hire a Head of Brand and Creative Services - Global to strengthen our MCBD function.

The Head of Brand and Creative Services – Global will be responsible for the creation and implementation of Arup’s brand strategy, and the delivery of global Creative Services.

This role is responsible for developing and executing global brand campaigns, the delivery of creative services to support global marketing campaigns, global internal communication programs, global priority pursuits and bids, and ensuring brand consistency across all markets and channels.
The role also nurtures a network of creative leads across the regions and the management of global external creative services providers and agencies.

What the role involves

Brand strategy and management
• Leading the development and implementation of a forward-looking global brand strategy that strengthens Arup’s market position and supports business growth.
• Defining and maintaining Arup’s brand positioning and messaging, visual and verbal guidelines and establishing brand performance metrics.
• Lead and manage global brand guidelines, processes, systems and templates that support maintaining brand integrity, ensuring consistency (verbal and visual) across all channels and touchpoints worldwide. Including training on best practice application of Arup’s brand. This includes responsibility as the business owner for Templafy, spanning content, adoption and use. • Develop and monitor brand health metrics including working with the Head of Research to commission research and competitive analysis to assess brand performance and identify opportunities for brand growth and differentiation.
• Develop and implement impactful brand campaigns to enhance Arup’s global brand presence.
• Nurture brand ambassadorship across MCBD and broader firm.

Creative services leadership
• Oversee the global brand and creative services team including creative direction, project management, and resource allocation.
• Lead a team of designers, copywriters, and other creative professionals to produce high-quality materials.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages creativity and excellence.
• Nurture a highly connected and collaborative creative services network across Arup.
• Select, procure and manage external providers, agencies and freelancers as required to deliver cost effective and high-quality creative services.
• Lead the ongoing development of skills and capabilities across the creative agency team and network.

Campaign development and execution
• Collaborate with MCBD teams to develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns that drive brand awareness and engagement.
• Manage the creative process for global campaigns and initiatives from concept to completion, ensuring all deliverables meet brand standards and business goals.
• Monitor and assess campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including MCBD colleagues and senior business leadership.
• Brand ambassador, representing and promoting Arup’s brand strategy across the Arup worldwide.

Operations
• Oversee workflow management, prioritisation and service delivery.
• Annual budget development and management.
• Lead the exploration of new techniques and technologies relevant to creative services including the application of AI.
• Provide regular updates and reports on brand performance, productivity and service quality delivery metrics of the creative services team.

Qualifications and accreditation
Undergraduate degree and/or postgraduate professional qualification in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design or related field. Or equivalent qualifications.

Knowledge and experience
• Significant experience in senior brand management, creative direction, creative agency management or a related role/s, with a proven track record of success in working globally.
• Deep understanding of brand strategy, brand management, creative processes, and best practices in the field.
• Experience in designing and implementing operational efficiency workflow management initiatives, including related tools, systems, processes and offshoring.

Skills and attributes
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of creative professionals.
• Ability to build strong and highly collaborative working relationships with peers, leaders and other stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate and present brand strategy and pitch creative concepts to a variety of audiences.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• High level of personal integrity, professionalism, and inclusive leadership. Commitment to exemplifying Arup’s aims, particularly those of being a ‘humane organisation’, maintaining ‘quality of work’, and ‘straight and honourable dealings’.

Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in the United States/Canada is $180,000 to $215,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of the United States/Canada will differ.
