We’re looking for a Marketing Proposals Manager to join our Toronto office. This role supports the development of our business by bringing to life the stories that display the value and impact of Arup’s people and projects, positioning the firm as the consultant of choice in the built environment. This role enables the firm to articulate how Arup delivers its unique value proposition, deep technical expertise, and focus on sustainable development. As a senior member of our North (Canada) Geography marketing team, this role will oversee Arup’s Property, Science & Industry (PS&I - including Property, Healthcare, Education, and Technology) marketing activities. This includes proposal delivery and interview prep, capture planning and prepositioning, client engagement, knowledge management, conference support, collateral development, communication, data analysis, and business planning. This position will work directly with Arup’s North Geography Marketing Leaders and various Geography Business Leaders to ensure seamless and efficient delivery of marketing and bidding activities in alignment with the goals of our business plans. They will also support our regional PS&I Business Leaders and Marketing Leaders to deliver on the regional strategy

The opportunity  

  • Proactively connect and coordinate with leaders in Arup’s PS&I Portfolio to create a cohesive and consistent approach to our marketing activities and setting short-term and long-term goals.
  • Oversee and/or lead the preparation of competitive proposals, qualification packages, and interview presentations.
  • Work with our technical leaders, guide the development of client-focused win strategies for proposals and statements of qualification to successfully capture work.
  • Guide the development and execution of go/no-go decision-making.
  • Build a network of clients and collaborators through participation in local industry organizations and events.
  • Oversee and/or lead pre-interview planning and presentation rehearsal, and help develop and apply established win strategy, themes, and discriminators in presentation materials.
  • Oversee and/or lead capture planning strategy sessions and assist in client and market focused research activities.
  • Oversee the management and maintenance of PS&I marketing assets, provide feedback, and actively engage in improving our marketing content, including project sheets, resumes, and other collateral.
  • Take ownership of new marketing content such as presentations, brochures, and project examples to support the PS&I Portfolio and subsequent businesses.
  • Work with our regional PS&I marketing teams to bring the best of our global experience to our local clients.
  • Management of marketing activities and management and mentoring staff team on work winning activities specific to the PS&I Portfolio.
  • Maintain consistent quality, corporate identity, and graphic standards.

Is this role right for you? 

  • Must have strong communication, writing, and organizational skills
  • Experience and knowledge of a related PS&I industry in Canada
  • 7 or more years of experience in the A/E/C industry
  • Experience with large-scale prime proposals (including alternative project procurement delivery)
  • Experience developing market-facing capabilities brochures and pitch decks
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with an emphasis in Business, Marketing, Communications, or Design
  • Confident, self-motivated, independent, and proactive
  • Energetic, positive demeanor, with proven track record of juggling/responding to multiple tasks
  • Experienced in the following computer applications: Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Involvement with local industry organizations and an understanding of the local market is a plus
  • Bilingual in English/French would be considered an asset

Toronto Hiring Range – The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Toronto is $120,000 to $140,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Toronto will differ.
