We are seeking a Power Transmission Leader for our Canada business. The candidate is expected to lead the development of the Arup offering in the Canada in the utility power transmission and distribution (T&D) sector with a singular focus on sustainable energy outcomes. This role can be based out of our Calgary or Toronto office locations.

The opportunity
· Develop comprehensive strategies for national and provincial utility power transmission and distribution (T&D) to align with business goals and regulatory requirements.
· Oversee the successful delivery of power projects, ensuring they meet the strategic objectives and are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
· Create innovative and practical conceptual and front-end energy solutions that address client needs and industry trends.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their needs, provide solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction.
· Design and implement marketing campaigns to generate leads, attract new clients, and promote the company's services and capabilities.
· Identify new business opportunities, develop pursuit plans, and coordinate efforts to secure projects through competitive bidding and negotiations.
· Strategically win new projects and secure repeat business by delivering high-quality services and maintaining client trust and satisfaction.
· Assist in identifying and recruiting key staff and managers aligned with Arup's strategic growth plan for the power business, ensuring a strong team capable of achieving business goals.
· Provide leadership and mentorship to staff, fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment that encourages professional growth and development.
Is this role right for you?
· 15 years of industry experience in the utility power sector.
· Engineering bachelor’s degree required in engineering from an ABET-accredited program, qualification in management is a big plus.
· Technical experience in power engineering planning, design, execution and operations phases.
· Experience working with utility power clients and their procurement practices for engineering services.
· Strong industry networks and reputation.
· Experience in leading projects and managing complex and large scale client relationships.
· Have an active Professional Engineer (P. Eng) license. Alberta or Ontario preferred.
· Track-record of work winning and demonstrable commercial foresight along with proven expertise in building and managing successful relationships with client organizations.
· Proven experience with leading staff to achieve stretch business revenue and profitability targets servicing utility power customers.
· Experienced, dynamic, and engaging leader, who has a strong track record of leading and managing teams. Provides an aspirational role model to those developing their career.
· An organized, methodological and creative approach to problem solving and decision-making.
· Able to travel to client sites and other remote locations.
· Able to independently conduct energy analyses of building systems and equipment.
· Sound understanding of commercial and financial issues.

Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Calgary is $148,500 to $198,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Calgary will differ.
