Joining Arup

Arup’s purpose, shared values and collaborative approach have set us apart for over 75 years, guiding how we shape a better world.

Watch this short clip to discover how Arup are shaping a better world and how you could be a part of it!

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Principal Project BIM Co-ordinator for major infrastructure project delivery, working with Autodesk Construction Cloud.

As a Principal BIM Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in shaping digital delivery across our major projects. You’ll lead the setup, governance and ongoing management of ACC environments, ensuring that workflows, permissions and data structures support seamless collaboration and ISO 19650–compliant delivery. Working with BIM Managers and discipline leads, you’ll help create a high‑quality digital environment that enables teams to work efficiently and deliver coordinated, well‑integrated designs.

You’ll also support multidisciplinary teams across MEICA, Civils, Structures, Geotechnical and GIS, providing training, troubleshooting and guidance as projects progress. This role offers the chance to influence best practice, manage critical digital interfaces such as ACC‑to‑ProjectWise transfers, and play a key part in ensuring our work meets the highest standards of quality, consistency and innovation.

At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas. You will have the opportunity to do socially useful work that has meaning to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.

Is this role right for you?

As a Principal BIM Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in shaping how our projects are delivered digitally — ensuring our ACC environments run smoothly, supporting multidisciplinary teams, and enabling coordinated, high‑quality design across every stage of a project. You’ll work closely with BIM Managers and discipline leads to set standards, solve problems, and help drive best practice in digital delivery.

  • Experience in digital coordination, a strong understanding of ACC and ISO 19650 workflows, and enjoy supporting teams to work efficiently and collaboratively in a complex, multi‑party environment.
  • Configure, maintain and govern ACC environments, including permissions, roles, workflows, folders and metadata in line with BEPs and client requirements.
  • Establish ISO 19650‑compliant workflows and ensure ACC setup supports multi‑party delivery.
  • Support discipline BIM leads with federated model creation, coordination spaces, clash workflows and ACC‑based design collaboration.
  • Manage BIM data transfer processes, including moving models and drawings between ACC and ProjectWise.
  • Provide ACC training, troubleshooting and frontline support to multidisciplinary teams (MEICA, Civils, Structures, Geotechnical, GIS).
  • Administer users, roles and permissions, onboard new team members and manage updates affecting permissions, federations or integrations.
  • Lead change impact assessments relating to naming conventions, codes, structures and other configuration changes.
