ポジション概要 
ArupのJapan Rail Teamにて、鉄道分野のアドバイザリーおよびエンジニアリングプロジェクトに携わる鉄道エンジニアリングコンサルタントを募集します。

Arupの日本における鉄道事業は、アドバイザリー、インフラストラクチャー、システムズエンジニアリングの3つの分野で構成されています。本ポジションでは、官公庁から受託する鉄道関連の調査業務を中心としたアドバイザリープロジェクトに携わるとともに、経験や専門性に応じて鉄道エンジニアリングプロジェクトにも参画いただきます。

プロジェクトの技術的な成果物およびサービス品質の管理、クライアントや外部関係者との調整、報告書・提案書等の作成に加え、Business Developmentや営業活動の支援にも携わるポジションです。 
Japan Rail Teamのメンバーに加え、Global Rail Teams、東京オフィスおよびAPACの各拠点と連携しながら、国内外の知見を活かしてプロジェクトを推進していただきます。

このポジションの魅力 

• 鉄道分野の戦略、調査、運営等に関するアドバイザリー業務に加え、経験や専門性に応じてインフラおよび鉄道システムに関するエンジニアリングプロジェクトにも携わることができます。 
• 鉄道インフラ、車両、信号・列車制御、電力、通信、運行計画、システムアシュアランス等、幅広い領域のプロジェクトに関わる機会があります。 
• 鉄道に関する官公庁委託調査を中心に、インフラ分野におけるコンサルティング経験や提案力を活かすことができます。 
• Japan Rail Teamに加え、Global Rail Teams、東京オフィスおよびAPACの各拠点と連携し、Arupのグローバルな知見を活かしてプロジェクトを推進できます。 
• 技術的な成果物の提供、サービス品質、関係者との調整等を通じて、プロジェクトマネジメントの経験をさらに広げることができます。 
• プロジェクト遂行だけでなく、クライアントとの関係構築、提案書の作成、Business Developmentおよび営業活動の支援にも携わります。 
• Japan Rail Teamに加え、Global Rail TeamsおよびAPACの各拠点と連携しながら、鉄道分野における先進的な知見や専門性に触れ、自身のコンサルティングおよび技術的な専門性をさらに高めることができます。

主な業務内容 

• 鉄道分野におけるアドバイザリー業務およびエンジニアリング・技術コンサルティング業務への参画 
• 鉄道に関する官公庁委託調査をはじめとするアドバイザリープロジェクトの遂行 
• スキルやプロジェクトの性質に応じた鉄道エンジニアリングプロジェクトの支援 
• 鉄道システム分野に関する専門知識を活かしたインフラストラクチャー事業の支援 
• 図面、計画書、報告書およびその他成果物の作成・取りまとめ 
• クライアントおよび外部関係者との調整・連携 
• プロジェクト遂行における技術成果物およびサービス品質の管理 
• Business Developmentおよび営業活動の支援 
• プロジェクト遂行におけるクライアント、チームメンバーおよび各種ステークホルダーとの連携 
• Japan Rail Team、Global Rail TeamsおよびAPACの各拠点との協働

応募資格 
必須経験 

• エンジニアリング分野における関連学位を有すること 
• コンサルティングファームまたはシンクタンクにおいて、3年以上のコンサルティング業務経験を有すること 
• インフラ業界向けのコンサルティングサービス提供経験 
• 官公庁および民間企業に対する提案営業経験ならびに入札案件向け提案書作成経験 
• 日本語ネイティブまたはビジネスレベルの日本語力を有すること 
• 英語による優れたコミュニケーション能力（目安：TOEIC 700点以上）

歓迎経験・資格 

• 交通インフラ分野（特に鉄道業界）における業務経験、または関連企業・行政機関とのネットワークを有する方 
• エンジニア、システム設計者、コンサルタント、プロジェクトエンジニアまたはプロジェクトマネージャーとしての経験

以下のいずれかの分野における専門知識または実務経験  

• 鉄道車両（Rolling Stock）

Position Overview 
We are seeking a Rail Consultant to join Arup's Japan Rail Team, supporting advisory and engineering projects across the rail sector.

Arup's rail business in Japan covers three key areas: Advisory, Infrastructure and Systems Engineering. In this role, you will contribute to advisory projects, primarily government-commissioned railway studies and research, while also supporting rail engineering projects according to your experience and area of expertise.

The role includes managing technical deliverables and service quality, coordinating with clients and external stakeholders, preparing reports and proposals, and supporting Business Development and sales activities.

Working closely with members of the Japan Rail Team, Global Rail Teams, the Tokyo Office and colleagues across the Asia Pacific region, you will help deliver projects by drawing on both local and international expertise.

• Work closely with members of the Global Rail Teams and colleagues across the Asia Pacific region, gaining access to leading expertise and best practices across the rail industry while continuing to develop your consulting and technical skills.

Key Responsibilities 

• Contribute to advisory, engineering and technical consultancy activities within the rail sector 
• Deliver advisory projects, including government-commissioned railway studies and research 
• Support rail engineering projects according to project requirements and individual expertise 
• Provide specialist railway systems knowledge to support infrastructure-related projects 
• Prepare and coordinate drawings, plans, reports and other project deliverables 
• Coordinate and liaise with clients and external stakeholders 
• Manage technical deliverables and service quality throughout project delivery 
• Support Business Development and sales activities 
• Collaborate with clients, team members and other stakeholders during project delivery 
• Work closely with the Japan Rail Team, Global Rail Teams and colleagues across the Asia Pacific region

Requirements  

• Required Experience 
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline 
• At least 3 years of consulting experience within a consulting firm or think tank 
• Experience providing consulting services to the infrastructure sector 
• Experience in proposal-based sales to government agencies and private-sector clients, including the preparation of proposals for tender projects 
• Native-level or business-level Japanese language proficiency 
• Strong English communication skills (approximately TOEIC 700 or above)

Preferred Experience & Qualifications 

• Experience in the transport infrastructure sector, particularly the railway industry, and/or an existing network across relevant companies and government agencies 
• Experience as an engineer, system designer, consultant, project engineer and/or project manager 

Expertise or practical experience in one or more of the following areas:  

• Rolling Stock 
• Signalling & Control 
• Traction / Power 
• Communications Systems 
• Railway Operations / Planning 
• Railway System Assurance

Compensation & Benefits 
Expected Annual Salary: JPY 5.5 million to 1.1 million, commensurate with experience and qualifications, plus Profit Share.
