Programme Overview 

 

UK PACT (Partnering for Accelerated Climate Transitions) is a UK Government programme funded through International Climate Finance (ICF) that has been running since 2018. Phase 1 of UK PACT lasted from 2018 to 2023. Phase 2 runs from 2023 to 2027, with the possibility of extension to 2030. It will be delivered by Palladium in close coordination with the UK government, British Embassies and High Commissions.  

 

UK PACT is a flexible technical assistance programme that is designed to support Overseas Development Aid-eligible countries to increase their future climate ambitions, reduce emissions, and accelerate just transitions to clean growth. UK PACT aims to respond explicitly to partner government demand for capacity building interventions, sharing expertise in areas such as climate legislation, urban mobility, nature and renewable energy. The programme’s overall objective is to alleviate poverty, working primarily through reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The Opportunity  

 

The Asia Regional Communications and Engagement Associate will be a key in-region member of the Arup UK PACT team supporting the development and roll-out of a communication strategy focused on increasing awareness, impact and influence of the programme.  

Specifically, the Asia Regional Communications and Engagement Associate will: 

 

Support communications strategies designed to reach specific categories of local stakeholders through a mix of relevant communications, media and language channels, including translating copy into local languages.  

 

Contribute to the development of UK PACT communications, knowledge products, and strategies to promote the programme and enhance the brand within India, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia. Lead on the maintenance and development of the India, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia country CRM contacts database and ensure that the respective country programme website pages are up to date and periodically reviewed. 

 

Support the development of strong and engaging digital products that effectively convey messaging about the programme on the UK PACT website and other channels in coordination with country teams, teams at Post, and relevant implementing partners. 

 

Create, plan, and measure effective email communications campaigns targeting UK PACT stakeholders in India, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia, using CRM to segment and improve the quality of existing contacts data in line with data protection requirements. 

 

Provide support to country teams with communications queries and assist with the coordination of external communications and coordinate in-person and online meetings with UK PACT internal and external stakeholders. 

 Support the central UK PACT Communications team in general programme communications administration, including the preparation of quarterly and annual progress reports and stakeholder engagement reports and provide communications support for market engagement events and country calls for proposals and other relevant grant processes, ensuring clear messaging and alignment with regional strategies to engage potential grantees and stakeholders effectively. 

 

Lead the implementation of region-specific communications initiatives, and actively engage in brainstorming and developing new initiatives that align with these strategic goals; and, perform any other duties as reasonably required by the Communications and Knowledge Manager in coordination with the Asia Regional Lead.

Job Location- Delhi/ Mumbai,  and is long term contract with the possibility of extension based on exceptional performance.

 

 

We'd love to hear from you if you have;

 

·        Knowledge and experience of CRM systems (HubSpot preferred) and experience in website content management. 

·        Master's degree in business administration with 7 to 12 years of experience  

·        Excellent writing and verbal communication skills (in English) and fluent in at least one language relevant in this region (Hindi, Thai, Vietnamese, Bahasa Indonesia 

·        Experience supporting communication campaigns, including content creation and experience supporting international programmes with related admin and reporting tasks. 

·        Are comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders and willing and able to be on calls outside of regular working hours to accommodate time zone differences. 

·        Experience working with embassies and/or civil servants or working with the press in at least one country relevant to UK PACT
