The Opportunity
The Reporting Lead will assume responsibility for providing support to the NTA in relation to the Design and Build Contractor’s performance monitoring for the Scheme on which they have been deployed, ensuring that there is timely, accurate and transparent reporting of the performance of the Design and Build Contractors. This may include overseeing the coordination and management of the progress and performance reports for their assigned Scheme, facilitating performance reporting reviews and ensuring that the Design and Build Contractor’s reporting is aligned to any reporting framework implemented at a Site Level.
The Reporting Lead will assist the NEC4 ECC Assistant Project Manager and the Design and Technical Services Lead in establishing and leading the Performance and Reporting sub-functional area at a Site Level for the particular Scheme on which they have been deployed, providing strategic direction and overseeing the management of a high-performance, integrated sub-functional area team. The role holder will be required to develop and undertake detailed financial and resource planning for the sub-functional area and oversee the day-to-day management of the activities of Client Partner (CP) staff within the Site Level Performance and Reporting sub-functional area, ensuring they are carrying out their relevant tasks efficiently and effectively to ensure the successful delivery of Core Bus Corridor Infrastructure Works (CBCIW).
The Reporting Lead will also act as a point of contact between the Site Level and CBCIW Core Level and any other relevant NTA stakeholders and will be required to actively encourage knowledge transfer between CP staff at Site Level and NTA staff. The role holder will also be responsible for coordinating all relevant reporting to the PMO and any additional reporting required in line with defined governance arrangements. In addition, the Reporting Lead will assume responsibility for the performance of CP personnel deployed within the Performance and Reporting sub-functional area on their assigned Scheme and will embed a focus on continuous improvement and best practice throughout the delivery of the Scheme.
The specific document control tasks and areas of responsibility the Reporting Lead may be required to oversee and provide support for are primarily included in Section 6.F of Appendix 1 to the Client Partner Scope of Services.
As a Reporting Lead at Arup, you will:
- Required to have 7+ years’ performance and reporting activities with at least 5 years’ experience carrying out performance and reporting activities across the project lifecycle through to completion on high value road and / or infrastructure projects or projects of a similar scale and complexity
- Further demonstrated experience and knowledge in the following is desirable:
- Working in a comparable consultancy environment, or with a client or contractor organisation
- Management information analysis, presentation and requirements
- Reporting tools and applications
- Microsoft tools (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)
- Business Intelligence (BI) tools e.g., Tableau, MS Power BI
- Cost management systems, financial management
- Industry recognised publishing tools
- Business Intelligence (BI) tools e.g., Tableau, MS Power BI
- Relevant reporting with substantial experience in data visualisation and analysis techniques
- Project controls design
- Delivering continuous improvement programs
- Presenting complex technical information to senior management
- Deploying resources (organisation / people)
- Earned value, schedule analysis, and financial performance analysis
- Managing high-performing staff / teams including carrying out performance management, undertaking resource planning and embedding a focus on continuous improvement and best-practice and
- Working within safety critical and regulated environments would be desirable.

Education and Qualifications
- Required to have a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area e.g., engineering, project management, cost and commercial management etc.
- Formal training / qualification in Project / Programme management is desirable.
- Safepass accreditation is desirable.
