We are looking for a technical-focused leader to join our growing and successful Environmental & Social (E&S) team as Senior Associate Environmental & Climate Change Consultant. In this role, you will manage the delivery of Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment, Environmental and Social Due Diligence and advisory projects across Southeast Asia, working closely with topic specialists to develop high-quality EIA/ESIA reports, management and action plans, due diligence assessments, and monitoring reports.  

You will take on short-term site assignments to support project delivery, provide technical expertise on E&S matters, and lead and mentor a talented team of professionals. This is a great opportunity to contribute to meaningful, sustainable outcomes while helping shape the growth and success of our regional E&S practice.

The role is based in the Manila office.  

The Opportunity  

  • You will be responsible for leading EIA, ESIA, E&S DD and advisory projects in sectors such as water/ waste/ energy/ transport infrastructure/ amongst others.  
  • You will be responsible for acting as a technical leader on relevant projects.
  • You will be required to support and lead bids as needed.
  • You will be accountable for key client relationships and representing Arup’s E&S and climate and sustainability services business in relevant client meetings.
  • You will be responsible for managing teams and support team leadership, line management and mentoring of junior staff to develop our climate and sustainability services team in Manila and the Southeast Asia region.

Is this role right for you?  

  • At least 10 years professional experience.
  • Master’s degree in Geography, Climate Change, Environmental Management/Science/Engineering, Economics, Finance, or another relevant field. 
  • Licence or professional qualification in relevant location and discipline. 
  • Demonstrated evidence of having led E&S advisory and impact assessment projects in SEA
  • Demonstrated commercial experience with project management and forms of contract.
  • Proven experience in a consulting environment.
