The Opportunity

This is an opportunity for a dynamic individual to grow within, and further strengthen the successful London bridges and civil structures team. We have an exciting portfolio of varied and challenging work. We place an emphasis on delivery of quality design and consultancy services to our clients to add value to the projects we undertake.  Our team work on bridges and civil structures design across a range of project types and scales, including rail, highway and pedestrian bridges; underground and overground rail stations; deep retaining structures and renewable energy infrastructure.

You will be involved across all stages of projects from feasibility studies, scheme and detailed designs, construction phase technical support and advising on the long-term management of structures.  Taking on Project Management responsibilities for the design delivery within a multi-disciplinary environment, in a client facing role, responsible for reporting the technical and financial performance of projects.  The role will also involve managing multi-disciplinary teams in the production of drawings, reports, risk registers and specifications; Supporting bids on multi-disciplinary projects including the preparation of tender quality submissions, reviewing contractual documents and preparing financial submissions; Contributing to the development and application of best practice within the group and supporting the Global Skills Network initiatives; Assistance in the achievement of business objectives and providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior staff, acting as a Delegated Engineer and Supervising Civil Engineer to our graduates.

 

Is this role right for you?

We are seeking an Engineer who is able to design and deliver civil structural engineering solutions on complex projects and who can lead teams on multi-disciplinary projects.  In order to be successful, we are seeking the following skills and experience; 

  • Degree qualified with chartered professional status;
  • Strong technical skills in bridge design, construction techniques and asset management;
  • Strong technical skills in rail civil structures, including overground and underground station design;
  • Competent digital skills and knowledge of sustainability best practice;
  • Proven commercial and contractual roles on projects;
  • Able to develop successful client relationships
