The Senior 12D Roads Designer plays a key role within the highways team, strengthening technical capability and driving high-quality project outcomes. This role combines leadership, advanced design expertise, and collaboration to successfully deliver complex projects while contributing to continuous improvement and design excellence.
The Opportunity
• Lead road alignment design for major urban and rural highways, as well as local road and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and oversee high-quality 3D designs, technical drawings, and documentation using 12d Model and associated tools.
• Manage alignment design delivery, ensuring outputs are completed within project timeframes, scope, and budget.
• Develop and implement innovative technical solutions, coordinating multidisciplinary design inputs and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and guidelines.
• Mentor and support junior designers through delegation, review, and feedback while contributing to team capability development.

Is this role right for you?
• Extensive experience in road alignment design, with strong knowledge of Austroads, TMR, and Australian Standards.
• Advanced proficiency in 12d Model, BIM workflows, and technical tools such as CAD, Bluebeam, and ProjectWise.
• Proven ability to lead complex, multidisciplinary projects, including coordination, design reviews, and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience facilitating technical discussions and mentoring team members.
• A relevant tertiary qualification and commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.
