As part of the Civil Infrastructure team, this role covers a broad range of skills relating to civil infrastructure and multidisciplinary projects.  In particular, the focus of the Senior Civil Engineer is to deliver design and consulting services within the civil engineering technical discipline and related areas to enhance the team’s portfolio of skills and expertise.

This opportunity will see you work with various key stakeholders including DevelopmentWA, the Public Transport Authority, the Water Corporation, local governments, and other public and private sector clients. Additional support is also required for Arup’s Sustainability, Transport, Aviation, Buildings, Energy, Water, and Resource portfolios, along with other related projects.

The Opportunity

  • Provide design and technical consultation in areas such as road design, pavement design, stormwater design, water and sewer reticulation and site development.
  • Develop accurate project cost estimates independently, considering various factors such as materials, labour, and overhead, to ensure precise financial planning.
  • Managing smaller projects independently or as part of a team, allocating resources effectively, collaborating with stakeholders to meet project goals, and handling project communication and reporting.
  • Take ownership of creating and managing project budgets, actively tracking expenses, and proactively implementing cost control measures to optimise spending and project financial health.
  • Take responsibility for the performance and development of others through providing guidance, training, direction and feedback.

Is this role right for you?

  • Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in civil or similar area.
  • Relevant industry experience in the civil infrastructure and site development ideally in consulting business environment.
  • Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership.
  • Proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines – and Arup’s related procedures including OH&S
  • Experience with internal and external stakeholder management.
