Joining Arup
Arup’s purpose, shared values and collaborative approach has set us apart for over 80 years, guiding how we shape a better world.
As a Civil & Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of sustainable, innovative, and high-quality rail and transport infrastructure projects across Singapore and the Southeast Asia region. You will contribute to the full project lifecycle, providing civil and structural design, analysis, and construction support from feasibility studies and concept development through to detailed design and construction-stage services. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will collaborate with internal specialists, clients, and external stakeholders to deliver safe, efficient, and technically robust engineering solutions for major transportation infrastructure projects.
The Opportunity
- Deliver structural design and analysis for major rail, MRT, and transportation infrastructure projects, including underground structures such as stations, tunnels, shafts, and ancillary facilities.
- Prepare and review structural calculations and designs in accordance with Eurocode Standards, Singapore codes, and LTA requirements.
- Coordinate closely with architects, geotechnical, civil, MEP, and other discipline teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Prepare technical reports, design documentation, authority submissions, and project-related correspondence throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead, mentor, and review the work of junior engineers and drafters while managing design packages, programme commitments, and technical risks.
At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas.
You will have the opportunity do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.
Is this role right for you?
- A Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering recognised by the Professional Engineers Board (PEB) Singapore, with a minimum of 7 years' relevant structural engineering experience.
- Proven experience delivering MRT, railway, or major transportation infrastructure projects in Singapore, including underground structures from concept through construction.
- Strong technical expertise in structural analysis and design, with proficiency in engineering software such as ROBOT, SAFE, or equivalent finite element modelling tools.
- Sound knowledge of Singapore structural design standards, Eurocodes, and LTA approval processes, including authority submissions and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently, manage multidisciplinary interfaces, and develop junior team members.
