The Opportunity 

Our NWY Advisory Services team are recruiting for a Senior Commercial Manager to join the well established team! With offices in Leeds, Manchester & Liverpool you decide which office to work from on a hybrid basis! As Commercial Manager you will play a pivotal role in the commercial and financial success of major construction and engineering projects. With a focus on ensuring financial success, you will be responsible for managing internal processes, and maintaining external relationships with customers, clients, and multidisciplinary colleagues.

Is this role right for you?

In this role you will be applying your knowledge of contract management to enhance project performance, focusing on critical aspects including insurances, programme, delay damages, key contract dates, and risk management. You will assist and advise clients and colleagues on good commercial management of projects to ensure successful delivery. This will require an understanding of estimates, value engineering, supply chain management, valuing work, understanding cost, cost/value analysis, cash and cost flow analysis, change management and commercial decision making. You will also participate in project reviews, commercial discussions with clients and suppliers, and ensure the execution of action items, and coach staff and multi-disciplinary teams to heighten their commercial awareness and expertise.

Requirements:

  • Good contract experience, particularly with NEC4 contracts.
  • Experience working within a client organisation, either directly or through colocation/secondment in high profile and complex projects.
  • Drafting and negotiation of main contracts throughout project development and execution.
  • Experience using contract administration platforms such as CEMAR and Asite to oversee and act on client communications and instructions.
  • Professional memberships (MRICS, MCInstCES, or MCIOB) are advantageous.
