Joining Arup

Arup’s purpose, shared values and collaborative approach has set us apart for over 75 years, guiding how we shape a better world.

Arup is seeking a Senior Strategy and Operations Consultant to join its APAC Advisory team. This role focuses on leading and delivering complex strategy projects across the built and urban environment, helping clients make confident decisions in times of uncertainty. The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking with technical insight to drive sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and innovation.

The Opportunity

•    Manage and deliver multidisciplinary strategy projects including market assessments, infrastructure strategy, investment prioritisation, and governance frameworks across sectors such as energy, transport, and urban development.
•    Collaborate with clients to understand their business challenges, co-develop strategic solutions, and maintain strong, trust-based relationships through regular engagement and high-quality deliverables.
•    Conduct and interpret qualitative and quantitative research to support strategic decision-making. Synthesize findings into actionable recommendations and contribute to the development of client-ready reports and presentations.
•    Oversee project planning, scoping, and resource allocation. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, supporting their development in consulting and analytical skills.
•    Identify new opportunities, contribute to proposal writing and pitch development, and leverage market insights to support the growth of Arup’s strategy consulting services in Southeast Asia.

At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas.
You will have the opportunity do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.

Is this role right for you?

•    Tertiary qualifications in public/urban policy, business, economics, or a related built environment discipline.
•    Minimum 6 years of experience in strategy consulting, with a proven ability to manage and deliver complex projects.
•    Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
•    Excellent communication and presentation abilities—written, visual, and verbal.
•    Experience in stakeholder engagement and facilitation, with a working knowledge of relevant legislation and standards in Southeast Asia.
