As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will lead the investigation, analysis and design of geotechnical solutions for major infrastructure projects, transforming complex ground conditions into practical, sustainable engineering outcomes. Working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams, you will provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from site investigations through to design and construction support. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality geotechnical consulting services while contributing to project success, client relationships and the continued growth of Arup's geotechnical capability.
The Opportunity
- Lead geotechnical design and analysis, including desktop studies, investigation planning, interpretation of site data, engineering calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reporting.
- Plan, manage and supervise geotechnical field investigations and laboratory testing programmes, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality project delivery.
- Analyse field and laboratory data to develop accurate ground models and deliver practical, project-specific geotechnical solutions.
- Manage allocated project work packages and proposals, ensuring delivery meets programme, budget, quality and business objectives.
- Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, sub-consultants and multidisciplinary project teams while maintaining compliance with Arup's Quality Management System.

Is this role right for you?
- A recognised tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, with Chartered status or progress towards Chartership with Engineers Australia or an equivalent professional institution.
- At least six years of experience in geotechnical engineering, including the design and construction of medium to large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Proven expertise in planning, supervising and interpreting geotechnical investigations, including experience in slope stability assessment and remediation design.
- Proficiency with industry-standard geotechnical software such as gINT, OpenGround, Slope/W, PLAXIS and Leapfrog.
- Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, and deliver high-quality engineering outcomes within demanding project timeframes.
