The Opportunity

Reporting to the Structural Team Leader, the Senior Structural Engineer will be responsible to lead design teams for delivery of projects in the Vietnam market and potentially overseas markets.  He/She will be responsible to take technical and commercial ownership of projects assigned

  • Lead and manage structural and/or geotechnical design works for infrastructure projects.
  • Work closely with the BIM team and actively participate in coordination meetings.
  • Accountable for the delivery of significant and complex activities or projects. This role will require accurate prediction and planning for future resources.
  • Coordinating project activities to align with overarching goals and address minor conflicts and challenges. Monitor project progress and interdependence and offering support.
  • Represent Arup at internal and external meetings.
  • Executing management responsibilities as outlined in Arup’s Management System
  • Managing smaller projects independently or as part of a team, allocating resources effectively, collaborating with stakeholders to meet project goals, and handling project communication and reporting.
  • Take ownership of creating and managing project budgets, actively tracking expenses, and proactively implementing cost control measures to optimize spending and project financial health.
  • Review, supervision and development of technical skills within the team.
  • Preparation and delivery of detailed tender submissions and presentations.

Is this role right for you?

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (master’s degree is an advantage).
  • With minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience in Structural or Geotechnical Engineering
  • Strong knowledge of design codes, standards, and engineering practices.
  • Proven experience in infrastructure projects such as tunnels, bridges, or foundations.(Candidates with experience in building projects are also encouraged to apply)
  • Familiar with Eurocode (European standards).
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency with structural or geotechnical software such as Robot Structural Analysis, STAAD. Pro, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000 and PLAXIS.
