ポジション概要
日本およびAPACで拡大を続けるTechnology Sectorにおいて、データセンターを中心とした、技術的に複雑かつ高度なプロジェクトをリードするシニア機械設備エンジニアを募集します。

Japan Technology Sector Leadのもと、構想初期から施工・引渡しまで、機械設備分野の中核エンジニアとしてプロジェクトに携わっていただきます。空調、冷却、熱源、給排水等の設計を技術面からリードし、高い品質と信頼性が求められるプロジェクトの実現に貢献するポジションです。

日本国内の各専門分野に加え、APACのエンジニアや海外チームとも連携し、Arupのグローバルな知見と多分野にわたる専門性を活かして、クライアントの複雑な課題に取り組みます。

設計実務だけでなく、クライアントの技術アドバイザーとして重要な意思決定を支援するとともに、エンジニアの育成、クライアントとの関係構築、将来のプロジェクト機会の創出にも携わっていただきます。

主な業務内容

• テクノロジーおよびデータセンタープロジェクトにおける機械設備設計・エンジニアリング・コンサルティングのリード
• 構想初期から施工・引渡しまで、空調、冷却、熱源、給排水等の機械設備分野における技術的リーダーシップの提供
• 日本の法規および関連する国際基準に基づく設計計算、仕様書、図面、技術報告書の作成
• 建築、構造、電気、消防設備、サステナビリティおよびその他関連分野の専門家との調整・協働
• クライアント、官公庁、施工者等の社外ステークホルダーとの技術的な調整
• 各種申請、行政協議、ならびに設計・施工段階における技術的な質疑への対応
• 現場確認、技術レビューおよびデザイン監査への参加 
• 品質、コスト、スケジュールの目標達成に向けたプロジェクト計画、リソースおよび工程管理への貢献 
• スコープ、リスク、工程およびプロジェクト遂行戦略に関するクライアントへの技術的な助言 
• Japan Technology Sector LeadおよびAPACチームと連携したプロジェクトの推進
• Japan Technology Sector内のエンジニアに対する技術指導・育成
• クライアントとの関係構築、業務獲得および将来のプロジェクト機会の創出への貢献

応募資格 
必須経験

• 日本における建築設備分野での10年以上の実務経験
• 機械設備設計における技術的なリーダーシップ経験
• 技術的リスク管理およびクライアント対応経験
• 日本の建築設備関連法規、基準および申請・承認プロセスに関する深い理解
• 建築、工学または関連分野における学士号以上
• 日本語ネイティブレベル

歓迎経験・資格

• データセンターまたはテクノロジー関連プロジェクトへの参画経験
• 以下のいずれかの資格：一級建築士、設備設計一級建築士、技術士（機械部門）、建築設備士、または同等の海外資格
• 多分野の専門家で構成されるチームとの協働経験
• エンジニアに対する技術指導または育成経験
• 海外オフィスや地域チームとの協働に関心がある方
• 英語を使用したコミュニケーションに前向きに取り組める方（英語力よりも、学ぶ意欲やコミュニケーションへの前向きな姿勢を重視します）

Position Overview 
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join Arup's growing Technology Sector across Japan and APAC.

As a senior member of the Technology Team, specialising in data centre projects, you will provide technical leadership across mechanical engineering, design and consulting activities for technology and data centre projects. Working closely with clients, multidisciplinary teams in Japan and APAC colleagues, you will play a key role in delivering complex projects while leading the mechanical discipline throughout project delivery.

Reporting to the Japan Technology Sector Lead, you will contribute from early-stage concept development through to construction and handover, supporting clients as a trusted technical advisor and helping to drive the continued growth of Arup's Technology Sector in Japan.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering design, consulting and technical delivery for technology and data centre projects
• Provide technical leadership across HVAC, cooling systems, heat rejection, plumbing and related systems from concept design through to construction and handover
• Prepare design calculations, specifications, drawings and technical reports in accordance with Japanese regulations and relevant international standards
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including Architecture, Structural, Electrical, Fire, Sustainability and other engineering disciplines
• Liaise with clients, authorities, contractors and other external stakeholders
• Support statutory submissions, authority approvals and technical queries during design and construction phases
• Participate in site inspections, technical reviews and design audits
• Contribute to project planning, resource management and programme delivery to meet quality, cost and schedule objectives
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients on scope, risk, programme and delivery strategy
• Lead, mentor and develop engineers within the Japan Technology Team
• Support client development, work winning activities and future project opportunities in collaboration with the Japan Technology Sector Lead and regional leaders
• Collaborate with Japan and APAC teams to support the successful delivery of technology and data centre projects for global clients.

Requirements
Required Experience

• 10+ years of experience in building services engineering within the Japanese market
• Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership within mechanical building services design
• Experience managing technical risks and working directly with clients and key stakeholders
• Strong understanding of Japanese building services regulations, codes, standards and approval processes
• Bachelor's degree or above in Architecture, Engineering or a related discipline
• Native-level Japanese

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

• Experience working on data centre or technology sector projects
• One or more of the following qualifications: First-Class Architect, First-Class Equipment Design Architect, Professional Engineer (Mechanical), Building Services Engineer, or equivalent international professional qualifications
• Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Experience mentoring, developing or providing technical guidance to engineers
• Interest in collaborating with regional and international teams
• Willingness to communicate in English. We value a positive attitude towards learning and communication more than perfect English proficiency.

Compensation & Benefits
Expected Annual Salary: JPY 5.7 million to 13 million, commensurate with experience and qualifications, plus Profit Share.
