An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Payroll Advisor to join Arup’s Global Finance Shared Service team. Based in our Payroll Shared Service Centre, you will play an important role in ensuring our members are paid accurately and on time, while supporting compliance with statutory and occupational requirements.

- Ensuring Arup members are paid accurately and in line with established pay dates
- Responding to payroll queries and supporting the resolution of more complex payroll issues
- Reviewing legislative changes and supporting continued payroll compliance
- Processing statutory payments to tax authorities and non-statutory payments where applicable
- Supporting International Assignee payroll obligations
- Reconciling and posting payroll journals
- Reconciling monthly payroll loan accounts and resolving associated queries
- Acting as an Arup payroll approver within the vendor process
- Delivering internal payroll training and sharing payroll knowledge with colleagues
- Supporting internal and external audit requirements
- Reviewing and updating payroll processes and supporting documentation
- Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls and the overall member experience.
You will have the opportunity to deepen your global payroll knowledge, take ownership of complex payroll activities and contribute to projects that improve how payroll services are delivered across Arup.
At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas.
You will have the opportunity to do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.
Is this role right for you?
We are looking for someone with strong end-to-end payroll knowledge who can work accurately, manage competing priorities and confidently support complex payroll activities.

- A solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- The ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and deliver work within tight timescales
- Experience working within a Finance Shared Service Centre environment
- A sound understanding of payroll legislation, processes and controls
- Experience creating, reviewing and maintaining payroll procedures
- Experience supporting process improvement initiatives
- Strong analytical skills, including payroll reconciliation and issue resolution
- Experience maintaining payroll compliance and supporting internal and external audits
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to manage confidential payroll and employee information with integrity and discretion
- Experience gained within a multinational organisation would be advantageous, ideally with at least five years of relevant payroll experience.
