Senior Process Engineer - Water
Shape a future with purpose at Arup in Dublin.
Arup’s purpose, shared values and collaborative approach has set us apart for over 75 years, guiding how we shape a better world.
Process engineering is at the heart of many of the solutions needed to satisfy a growing society seeking a sustainable future, where the challenges of climate change are being tackled through innovation, collaboration and the influence of governments. Our involvement in the circular economy, the progression towards a net-zero carbon future and the creation of resilient thinking in a changing climate, shines a spotlight on the power of process engineering.
The Opportunity
The water sector in Europe and further afield is undergoing a massive transformation to respond to the challenges of climate change, population growth and pressures on the environment. This challenge impacts on water utilities and on other sectors that use water, either directly or indirectly. Water is a “blue thread” that will shape our ability to deliver on the UNs Sustainable Development Goals.
We are looking for candidates with experience of water process engineering consultancy and design on multi-disciplinary projects within the water sector and/or industrial sector. This role will sit within our water team in Ireland based in our Dublin and Cork office, supporting local and international clients in managing water and water risk and working with multi-disciplinary teams across the globe.
As a Process Engineer at Arup, you will:
- Likely to have provided water process consultancy to water and/or non water clients in previous roles.
- You will have also developed concept designs and studies, and would have experience of working in or directing process engineering teams to ensure production of deliverables to established timelines and within budget.
- You will co-ordinate the work of others and liaise with engineers of other disciplines, imparting your knowledge and experiences.
- You may be involved in highly regulated sectors, working within a gated design and project delivery process.
- You could be involved in the development of process data sheets: pressure relief valves, control valves, pumps, etc. and the designing of systems.
- You will also be involved in the report writing and the development of fee proposals, feasibility studies of plant operating and capital costs.
We would expect you to have a practical understanding of how your designs will be implemented, and digital approaches to solve our problems including the relevant current analysis and design software.
