Arup Canada’s Programme, Project and Commercial Management team currently has project management and leadership responsibility for numerous major infrastructure projects in the Toronto Area including Finch LRT, Eglinton Crosstown West Extension, Scarborough Subway Extension Tunnel with many other projects currently in the pipeline. To deliver these major complex projects successfully now and into the future it is critical that the Project Management Team has the requisite skills and experience. We are currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to support the Project Manager delivering a large package of work within a major transit project.

In this role, you will be part of an Arup Technical Advisory (TA) team, the proposed role is Stations and Facilities Design Coordinator through the in-market phase to the progressive design development phase.

·           Role Description RFP In-Market phase

  • Leading proponent RFI review and responses related to Stations and Facilities technical aspects. 
  • Coordinating updates and submissions of project documents (Reference Concept Design, design basis reports, memos and other technical documents) 
  • Incorporating technical scope related updates in contract documents and issuing addenda 
  • Responding to proponent’s comments on contract and dataroom documents related to Stations and Facilities technical scope 
  • Responding and addressing Contracting Authority and Third-Party comments 
  • Coordinating resolution of outstanding and new technical issues 

·           Role Description Progressive Development phase 

  • Leading the engagement with the selected proponent in design of Elevated and Underground stations, Emergency Exit Buildings and Traction Power Sub-Stations 
  • Participating in relevant working groups and design workshops 
  • Prioritizing Sponsor’s requirements, controlling technical scope and identifying changes 
  • Participating in design optimisation process with the selected proponent 
  • Leading the multidisciplinary reviewing technical submittals 
  • Supporting the selected proponents engagement with Contracting Authority and other Third Parties 
  • Support development of Stations and Facilities design and resolution of technical issues 

 

·           Ideal candidates will have:

  • Masters Degree in Civil/Geotechnical (or similar relevant discipline) Engineering from an accredited university.
  • P.Eng designation or eligible for membership with PEO.
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • 10+ years experience with project management in the consulting services industry and projects $1M.
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary management of Station design projects.
  • Knowledgeable in design and construction processes and terms. Previous experience preparing and managing construction documents and supporting permitting applications.
  • Excellent client service/management, interpersonal, problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, MSWord, MSExcel and MS Project Management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated, energetic and an eager to learn and grow professionally.
  • A results-oriented approach with the ability to take responsibility.
  • Strong prioritization and time management skills needed to complete tasks within deadlines.

Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Toronto is $110,000 to $130,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Toronto will differ.
