The Opportunity
Arup delivers some of the world’s most ambitious programmes in the energy, infrastructure and built environment sectors, bringing Projects and Programmes (P&P) expertise to work alongside our multidisciplinary teams delivering projects from conception to construction. Our North Advisory Team is pursing an ambitious growth strategy, of which Projects & Programmes (P&P) is a key service offering. We are looking to grow our our team with Project Managers who will have responsibility for a variety of project management activities supporting net-zero ambitions.
Our business has a particular focus on supporting Scotland and the UK’s energy and industry sectors in delivering a net zero carbon economy, while developing a hub of expertise in Industrial Decarbonisation & Hydrogen, Offshore Energy, Urban Energy & Future Energy Systems to support our global clients. Our growing Advisory service offering includes a P&P capability comprising PMO, project controls, design integration, and strategic delivery advice to clients in the Energy, Water, Transport, Science and Industry sectors. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of transformational projects critical to the UKs net-zero plans. The role will involve delivering projects for major energy sector companies including SSE, SGN, Scottish Power and major wind farm developers.

Is this role right for you?
You will support consulting and advisory services for public and private sector clients across the Energy and Science and Industry markets, with a particular focus on project management, bringing an interesting and diverse range of projects that you will have the opportunity to work on. You will support the growth and development of project management services and developing project management team capabilities. You will manage client relationships, delivering high quality project and programme management support across the whole project lifecycle, including delivering reports and developing plans for projects. This will include working to improve the performance of the project delivery in every aspect.
Requirements:
- A background in leading project tasks and technical discipline teams and/or sub-contractors.
- A background as a project manager in leading infrastructure projects through project design stages.
- Chartered or working towards chartership from a recognised institution such as APM.
- BSc in engineering, project management or a relevant subject.
- Relationship management and working with clients to achieve their project outcomes.
