We are looking for a Senior Project Manager in San Francisco to join our growing Program and Project Management team.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading the day-to-day project and commercial management of one of our key projects.

  • Client-Facing Role: this role is client-facing, based in the Arup or the client office for at least three days per week, providing you with direct interaction with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage project, commercial and contract administration from the owner’s side, during design and construction.
  • Review and provide comments on project management deliverables including construction quality plans, utility coordination plans and closeout procedures. 
  • Oversee quality assurance and quality control processes during design and construction, and support with third-party utility coordination.   
  • Monitor progress and review monthly technical and financial reports for compliance with the contract.
  • Prepare and ensure the quality of Arup’s team deliverables before issuing them to the client, including monthly progress reports.
  • Manage the work of Arup scheduler and cost consultant teams, facilitating discussions on schedule-related issues and maintaining fixed-price cost management.
  • Validate analysis and recommendations on complex change requests and independent cost estimating analysis on additional scope items.
  • Review and provide recommendations on proposed delay and/or relief events. 
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Provide oversight of submittal tracking and design deliverable review processes. 
  • Develop and maintain a project controls dashboard to regularly monitor progress, including variance analyses and reporting of project financials. 
  • Present at weekly project coordination meetings and monthly progress meetings with the project team, including the client, to discuss the project progress.  

Is this role right for you?

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in construction management, with a focus on large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with alternative project delivery methods, including design-build, progressive design-build, CM/GC, and public-private partnership (P3) projects (including DBFOM and other forms of P3) are preferable.
  • PMP, CCM, or equivalent certifications, is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and preferably project management software such as Primavera P6 and other relevant tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and a creative approach to problem-solving with a focus on continual improvement and delivering sustainable and value-led project outcomes.

Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job performed in San Francisco is $140,000 to $170,000 / year. Benefits are not included in the base salary range. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of San Francisco will differ.
