The Opportunity
Our Madrid office is looking for someone to support our team based in Madrid. The person will get experience in the preparation of various transportation planning studies for a broad portfolio of projects.
As a Senior Transport Consultant at Arup, you will:
- Conduct traffic and mobility studies for urban areas, development sites, public realm projects, major destinations, and transport interchanges.
- Participate in transport demand analysis and network modelling, using macro and/or micro modelling software such as VISUM, EMME, TRANSCAD, VISSIM or AIMSUN.
- Work in the development and delivery of transport strategies that address the needs of all users, including the preparation of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, and Travel Plans.
- Provide technical oversight, reviewing and checking the work of junior team members to ensure accuracy and adherence to project
- Communicate effectively with clients, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Take part in the bidding, winning, reviewing and steering of the delivery of a number of strategic projects of regional national significance.

- A degree in Civil Engineering, a Bachelor's/Master’s in Geography, Urban Planning, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in traffic studies, modelling, transport studies and pedestrian planning.
- Advanced use of the Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Fluent written and spoken skills in Spanish and English (C1 level).
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing results of analyses and modelling.
