Joining Arup

Arup has a long track record in the UK water industry working with all the major water companies and the Environment Agency.  In the current round of procurement for the AMP8 frameworks Arup recently secured major framework commissions with Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water and Thames Water, as well as its continuing framework with Severn Trent Water.    Arup are continuing to actively bid for other major AMP8 frameworks across the UK Water Industry.

The Opportunity 

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic senior team member to help us with our growing workload in flood risk management and river engineering.  The role will focus on the delivery of projects for our major clients in the Midlands, including the Environment Agency.

The role will involve: Working with Arup colleagues in specialisms such as Flood and Coastal Risk Management, Water Companies, regulatory, infrastructure and water advisory, dams and reservoirs, site development, sustainability and environmental planning to deliver projects to agreed scope and budget.

Is this role right for you?

Ideally you will be a chartered member of a relevant professional body with an academic background in science, engineering, or the environmental field.

You will build strong relationships with client teams, lead the technical and commercial delivery of projects while developing best-practice within the team.  You will enjoy identifying new project opportunities and areas of business activity.

If you have all or some of these skills and experience, and a willingness and passion to work in our team, we would like to hear from you.

We're looking for the following specific qualifications and attributes:

  • Project management of multidisciplinary projects in the water sector.
  • Skills in writing project scopes, business cases and reports. 
  • Knowledge of the engineering projects in the water sector. 
  • An ability to build, maintain and manage strong, long-term relationships within Arup and with our clients and stakeholders. 
  • A desire and ability to share knowledge and proactively mentor and manage project teams. 
  • Commercially savvy with highly effective and open communication skills. 

We are particularly interested in candidates with good awareness of the Environment Agency and Flood Risk Management processes.
