The Opportunity

Oasys is Arup’s software business, providing market-leading technical software including the Oasys LS-DYNA Environment, built on more than 30 years’ experience using Ansys LS-DYNA in consultancy. Used by leading automotive OEMs and industries including nuclear and civil engineering, our tools help engineers understand and apply complex simulation software. As Oasys continues to grow, we are expanding our global team to support clients through product development, training, events, sales and marketing.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced technical writer to join our global product team. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the quality and accessibility of technical documentation for the Oasys LS-DYNA Environment.

In this role you will:

  • Develop clear, user-focused technical documentation that explains complex product features and supports adoption of the Oasys LS-DYNA Environment.
  • Review and improve existing user manuals, tutorials and supporting content to ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency and relevance.
  • Collaborate with product, software engineering, marketing and technical specialists to shape how features are communicated to users.
  • Create practical user guidance, including workflows, tutorials, in-product help and example-driven documentation.
  • Lead modern documentation practices, using user feedback, analytics and usability insights to improve the overall documentation experience.
  • Explore AI-assisted documentation approaches, localisation processes and knowledge management improvements to support global users.

Is this role right for you?

We are looking for candidates with:

  • At least 3 years’ technical writing experience for complex software solutions.
  • Experience creating, editing and managing user documentation, including manuals, guides, tutorials and support content.
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, accessible content for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong proofreading, editorial and content-structuring skills, with a focus on consistency, usability and navigation.
  • Confident working with stakeholders across product, engineering and specialist technical teams.
  • Experience with documentation tools and workflows, such as ClickHelp, Git, Markdown or CI/CD.
  • Knowledge of documentation analytics, localisation, AI/LLM tools or global user support would be beneficial.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or experience in a consulting, engineering or simulation environment would be advantageous.
