The Opportunity
Mechanical Design/Engineering/Consulting: As a member of the Technology Team (a team specialised in data centre projects), you will be responsible for the mechanical design/engineering/consulting aspects of technology sector projects, primarily data centres.
• Reporting line: Structural Leader (one of the two teams)
• Number of team members: 27 (combined total for both teams)
• Structural Design/Engineering: As a member of the Building Engineering Team, you will be responsible for the structural design/engineering practice of (a) project(s). You will meet with a variety of clients and lead the structural design/engineering of (a) project(s). You will also work in close cooperation with other Teams/Disciplines such as MEP and façade engineering teams.
• Collaboration with other teams: Tokyo Office is a multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm that provides design and advisory services such as building engineering and renewable energy. We work together within Tokyo office and also with overseas Arup offices on projects and develop our services in a holistic approach.

Is this role right for you?
Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following
• At least 3 years’ first-hand experience in structural design & engineering in Japan
• Native or equivalent in Japanese
Others
• Positive towards taking on new challenges, with a broad range of interests and the ability to approach situations from a holistic perspective.
• Team worker; Ability to work proactively with our overseas offices
• Be willing to communicate in English
• Programming and first-hand experience in digital tools such as Grasshopper
Education / Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or higher
• First class architect (一級建築士), or planning to become one
