Als Constructeur bij Arup zul je:

• Constructieve ingenieursdiensten leveren voor een breed scala aan projecten, zowel nieuwbouw als transformatie, inclusief alle ontwerpfasen, vergunningsprocedures en indien mogelijk ook bouwplaatsinspecties.
• Een actieve rol spelen in interne en externe coördinatie gedurende de meeste fasen van multidisciplinaire projecten, waarbij Arup een volledig pakket aan ingenieursdiensten biedt, inclusief constructief ontwerp, en zorgt voor hoogwaardige opleveringen.
• Intensief samenwerken met collega’s uit disciplines zoals geotechniek, bouwfysica, brandveiligheid, akoestiek, werktuigbouwkunde, elektrotechniek en digitale teams, evenals met ons business development team.
• Bijdragen aan innovatieve oplossingen die voldoen aan de hoogste normen op het gebied van duurzaamheid, integraal ontwerp en technische uitmuntendheid.
• Contact onderhouden met opdrachtgevers, deelnemen aan workshops en bijdragen aan de ontwikkeling van digitale, computationele en parametrische tools en workflows die de projectuitvoering verbeteren. Jouw bijdrage versterkt Arup’s reputatie als creatieve probleemoplosser en speelt een essentiële rol in het vormgeven van de gebouwde omgeving in Nederland en daarbuiten.
• Je eigen werk controleren en reviewpakketten voorbereiden voor interne en externe kwaliteitsborging.

Wij zoeken een getalenteerde constructeur met minimaal 3 jaar ervaring om ons succesvolle team voor gebouwconstructies in Amsterdam te versterken. We bieden diverse mogelijkheden om je carrière verder te ontwikkelen. We waarderen ook:

• Een diploma in engineering.
• Minimaal 3 jaar werkervaring als constructeur.
• Ervaring met constructief ontwerp en detaillering van verbindingen met hoofdconstructiematerialen zoals beton, staal en hout.
• Vaardigheid in eindige-elementenanalyses en andere constructiesoftware.
• Kennis van parametrisch ontwerp en automatisering voor modellering en constructieve analyse.
• Kennis van Building Information Modelling (BIM).
• Algemene ervaring met bouwprojecten, zoals het leveren van constructieve input voor architectuurwedstrijden, het schrijven van specificaties en het opstellen van constructieve documentatie.
• Ervaring met het ontwerpen van houtconstructies is een pré.
• Vloeiend in Nederlands én Engels.

The Opportunity

As a Structural Engineer at Arup, you will:

• Deliver structural engineering services on a wide range and types of projects covering new-build and transformation, including all design phases, permitting processes and the opportunity to do site inspections when possible.  
• Have an active role in internal/external coordination through most phases of multidisciplinary projects, where Arup offer a fully scope of engineering services including structural design, ensuring that our deliverables are high quality. 
• Collaborate closely with colleagues across disciplines like geotechnical engineering, buildings physics, fire safety, and acoustics, mechanical, electrical and public health engineering, and digital teams, as well as our  business development team. 
• Contribute to innovative solutions that meet the highest standards of sustainability, total design, and technical excellence.  
• Engage with clients, participate in workshops, and support the development of digital, computational and parametric tools and workflows that enhance project delivery. Your contributions will help strengthen Arup’s reputation for creative problem-solving and will play a vital part in shaping the built environment in the Netherlands and beyond. 
• Review and self-check your own work and prepare review packages for internal/external quality assurance. 

Does this role inspire you?

We are looking for a talented structural engineer with a minimum of 3 years of experience; to be part of our successful building structures team in Amsterdam to support the team to achieve even greater success and we offer a range of possibilities for you to develop your career further. We also value: 

• Engineering Degree. 
• 3+ years of experience working as a structural engineer.
• Experience in structural design and detailing of connections with main structure materials like concrete, steel, and timber.
• Has finite element and other structural software skills
• Knowledge about parametric design and automation for modelling and performing structural analysis. 
• Knowledge about Building Information Modelling (BIM).  
• General experience in working on building projects, such as given structural input for architectural competition, writing specification for your discipline and preparing structural documentation.
• Experience with designing timber structures as an advantage. 
• Fluency in DUTCH and fluency in English as requirement.
