The Opportunity

Arup is seeking an experienced Task Team Senior Structural to join our growing team in Bangalore, India. This candidate will be responsible for leading the design development, coordination, and management of structural design models across all project stages. This role ensures structural design solutions are accurately modelled, coordinated with other disciplines, and compliant with client and project standards. This person works closely with structural engineers, MEP team, BIM Managers, architects, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality, clash-free, and data-rich models to support design delivery.

The ideal candidate would be a design-led, three-dimensional thinker who places creativity and spatial problem-solving at the heart of their approach - with BIM capability as a supporting skill, not the driver.

This individual must be able to interpret and draw information into the model in a technically sound, engineering-led manner, using the model as both a design coordination tool and a powerful medium of communication.

The ideal candidate will serve as a design integrator - someone who can think in 3D, proactively identify and resolve technical coordination challenges, and lead strategic planning discussions before modelling begins. They will be instrumental in bringing engineers together to define strategies, establish design intent, and enable seamless coordination across disciplines, ensuring that modelling is efficient, integrated, and robust from the outset.

As a Task Team Senior Structural at Arup, you will lead the coordination of structural models with architectural and MEP disciplines, independently translating design sketches into detailed BIM models, including reinforcement and steelwork details. You’ll manage clash detection and resolution using tools like Navisworks, organize multidisciplinary coordination meetings, and ensure all BIM submissions meet project standards and ISO 19650 principles. Additionally, you’ll act as the structural model administrator, enforce BIM standards, perform QA/QC checks, and generate coordinated BIM-based drawings and layouts.

If this role right for you?

We are looking for someone who has:

·       Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Structural Engineering or related field.

·       Extensive experience in structural design across various project types. Proven expertise in spatial coordination within strucutral design, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality, efficient, and compliant solutions.

·       Minimum of 5+ years of BIM coordination & modelling experience in structural detailing

·       Preferably experienced in project delivery in the Middle East.

·       Experience working in a design consultancy with a proven track record in delivering projects in collaboration with remote design centres.

·       Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks Manage, and BIM 360 / ACC. (preferably certified as Autodesk Certified Professional).
