We are seeking a Transportation Marketing Manager in our Toronto office. This role supports the development of our business by bringing to life the stories that display the value and impact of Arup’s people and projects, positioning the firm as the consultant of choice in the built environment. This role enables the firm to articulate how Arup delivers its unique value proposition, deep technical expertise, and focus on sustainable development.
As a senior member of our Canada geography marketing team, this role will oversee Arup’s transportation marketing activities (including Rail, Aviation, Roads & Streets, and Maritime) across Canada.
This position will work directly with Arup’s Canada geography marketing leaders and various geography business leaders to ensure seamless and efficient delivery of marketing and bidding activities in alignment with the goals of our business plan
The Canada Transport Portfolio Marketing Manager is responsible for resourcing and leading delivery of the Transport Portfolio marketing program in the Canada Geography. The activities include proposal delivery and interview prep, capture planning and prepositioning, client engagement, knowledge management, conference support, collateral development, communications, data analysis, and business planning.
The opportunity
- Proactively connect and coordinate with leaders in Arup’s Transport Portfolio to build a cohesive and consistent approach to our marketing activities, setting short-term and long-term goals
- Management of the transport marketing team in Canada (4 team members) and mentoring staff among the wider marketing team on work winning activities.
- Oversee and/or lead the preparation of competitive proposals, qualification packages, and interview presentations
- Work with our technical leaders, guide the development of client-focused win strategies for proposals and statements of qualification to successfully gain work
- Guide the development and execution of go/no-go decision-making
- Supervise and/or lead pre-interview planning and presentation rehearsal, and help develop and apply established win strategy, themes, and discriminators in presentation materials
- Coordinate and/or lead capture planning strategy sessions and assist in client and market focused research activities
- Oversee the management and maintenance of transport marketing assets, provide feedback, and actively engage in improving our marketing content, including project sheets, resumes, and other collateral
- Take ownership of new marketing content such as presentations, brochures, and project examples to support the Transport Portfolio and subsequent businesses.
- Work with our regional transport marketing teams to bring the best of our global experience to our local clients
- Maintain consistent quality, corporate identity, and graphic standards
Is this role right for you?
- Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills
- Experience and knowledge of the transport market in Canada
- 7 or more years of experience in the A/E/C industry
- Experience with large-scale prime proposals (including alternative project procurement delivery)
- Experience developing market-facing capabilities brochures and pitch decks
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably with an emphasis in Business, Marketing, Communications, or Design.
- Confident, self-motivated, independent, and proactive.
- Upbeat, positive demeanour, with consistent track record to balance/respond to multiple tasks
- Experienced in the following computer applications: Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Involvement with local transport organizations and an understanding of the local market is a plus

Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job performed in Toronto is $120,000 to $140,000 per year. Benefits are not included in the base salary range. Summary of benefits are included in this posting with details provided to applicants at the time of interview. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Toronto will differ.
