The Opportunity

We are looking for an Acoustics Consultant to join Arup’s Acoustics, Audio Visual and Theatre Consulting team in Mumbai, supporting the delivery of high-quality acoustic design and advisory work across a broad range of projects. This opportunity reflects our continued growth across the Property, Science, Industry and Technology markets, as well as transportation and energy infrastructure.

You will bring experience in acoustic consultancy, supporting acoustic design across areas such as building acoustics, environmental noise, building services noise and vibration, room acoustics, sound insulation, façade design and construction-stage support. You will play an important role in our growth plans in India, helping us deliver projects locally and internationally while collaborating with multidisciplinary colleagues across Arup’s global offices.

Is this role right for you?

We are looking for:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in acoustics, acoustic engineering, building physics, mechanical engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience and a sound understanding of building acoustics, environmental noise, building services noise control and vibration assessment.
  • Strong digital literacy and experience using tools such as ODEON, CATT, SoundPLAN, CadnaA, Revit or AutoCAD, with an interest in using data analytics, emerging technologies and AI-enabled design tools responsibly to improve project delivery, technical excellence and operational efficiency.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across disciplines, business units, clients, architects, engineers, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams under the guidance of senior colleagues, alongside a commitment to professional development and progression towards membership of a relevant professional body such as the Institute of Acoustics.
